Today, I got up early to spend the day with my horse, Sir Prize. Of course, I brought my camera too. On my way, I passed over railroad tracks which happen to get my attention. I also spotted a vine wrapping a tree that looked sort of spooky and a horse eating from a giant puddle. One of my favorite pictures of Day 17 was a horse eating lying down.

I shot everything in color and converted it to black and white in Adobe Lightroom. All of the pictures were captured with a Nikon D3s camera and 24-70mm lens. I had my camera set to Aperture Priority. The ISO varied depending on the scene, as well as the F-stop and shutter speed.
The picture above was ISO 400, F-2.8 and 1/8000 shutter speed. I blurred the edges using the "History Brush Tool" and the "Gaussian Blur Filter".

The railroad tracks were ISO 100, F-22 and 1/200 shutter speed. I went with a higher aperture because I wanted the depth in my photograph.
The horse sleeping was ISO 400, F-2.8 and 1/400 shutter speed. I lightened the horse and I also darkened the edges to draw more attention to him.
The vine on the tree was ISO 100, F-2.8 and 1/800 shutter speed. I used the "Smart Sharpen Filter" to give the vines more dimension. I only applied the "Smart Sharpen Filter" to the vines by using the "History Brush Tool".

The railroad tracks were ISO 100, F-22 and 1/200 shutter speed. I went with a higher aperture because I wanted the depth in my photograph.
